Sonoma State Equestrian Team

     Our competition team consists of current SSU students and alumni who are dedicated to the equestrian sport. We travel throughout Northern  California and the U.S. competing with the IHSA in Hunt Seat Equitation on the flat and over fences and Western Horsemanship and Reining.

     The team is a wonderful opportunity for students to meet, compete, and learn together. Throughout the year there are student lead "workshops," field trips, speakers, and clinics. Topics range from all areas of the equestrian world.

Stanford Results
Our English Team had great rides at Stanford University on November 14th and 15th. Every rider came home with at least one ribbon and several riders placed in every class.

Megan Lepper was one of these riders placing 6th and 3rd over fences and 1st and 5th on the flat.
Lara Porte placed 3rd in both her flat classes on difficult draws.
Kristi Bledsoe placed 2nd on the Flat and 5th over fences on a re-ride following a very challenging horse.
Kirbi Rogers had two good draws for fences and placed 5th and 2nd in both her fences classes.
Laurel Hagen had good rides and placed 5th and 4th each day.
Crystal Larkins had two great rides on challenging horses with a lot of competition and brought home a 6th.
